Is It Possible? NOT Overspending on Holiday Décor?

We all know how EASY it is to want ALL of the NEW & oh so SPARKLY #holiday #décor at the stores just as it hits the shelves. Everything is clean, pretty and in perfect style. The hard part is saying NO or figuring out what actually NEEDS to go home with you. In today's Newsletter, I will be sharing a few tips on how I try to save money on holiday décor without feeling deprived of all the new and exciting décor!

  1. Pick a COLOR and a THEME (for example: last year I chose to do a winter wonderland with a pop of red in between my white and neutral décor)

  2. Use COUPONS (Michaels, Joann and Hobby Lobby - all take competitors coupons)

  3. Know your PRICES (the best time to buy is at the end of the season, but not everyone wants to wait AND stuff will probably be sold out by then. Also, if you see something at Homegoods, you need to buy it when you see it because it may NOT be seen again. So, a great time to buy is when things are 50% off at Hobby Lobby or Michaels. And if you're really lucky, you will be able to use an additional 20-25% coupon, but it doesn't happen all the time - REMEMBER to have patience. You may have to go back a few times or you can sign up to your favorite stores and you will receive their weekly sales. It’s definitely worth it if you're on the hunt for some new décor.

  4. Keep MOST of your décor NEUTRAL and choose a POP of COLOR of your choice. (This way, most of your décor can be used throughout the year as well as the holidays!)

  5. If you're simply adding to your previous décor, choose items that will go with your other décor. This will give your older décor a fresh NEW vibe and feel.

So here's a list of what I would consider buying IF you don't already have it:

-Living Room: throw blanket, matching colored pillows, sign

-Bedroom: holiday pillows

-Bathroom: hand towel, bows, mini tree

-Tree: flocked tree with simple yet elegant ornaments

-Dining Room: holiday napkins on white plates with something festive on top. (ex: Small bowl, pine tree branch, pine cone, berries, flower..)

-Coffee Bar: 1-2 mugs, mini sign, mini jars of peppermint sticks, chocolate, & marshmallows

-Front Door: flocked garland & wreath
